The fall Artisan's Day will focus on apple pressing, Baronial projects, woodworking discussions, storytelling, and cooking over fire.

Schedule for September 22, 2012 Artisan's Day at the deKari Workshop

12-3:45 pm: Apple Pressing / Outside east side of workshop,
We are planning to press about 7-10 gallons. There will be a chance to pick apples, wash apples and prep for grinder, grind, and press. If you help with the pressing, you can take cider home. Bring a plastic or glass jug. If you want to start some hard cider, we will have cider yeast, and William has some extra air-locks (or bring your own!)
Clean up and store press, 3 pm - 3:45

12-3:45 pm:Sewing, Pressing, Handwork Upstairs in Workshop
Help Baroness Helene finish making new tabards, kinsmen favors and new Baronial Regalia for Newcomers! There will be handwork and machine sewing, tassle and braid making.
If you have a sewing machine and can bring it, please do. We have plenty of outlets.

12-3:45 pm:Raised Donut Making -- In the house In my small kitchen, we will be making raised donuts for the 3 pm snack.\Not much room in this kitchen, but there is some space to sit and swap tales of bread-making.

3:45 – 4:15: A pause in The day's Occupation. Cider and Donuts !! We will have very fresh spiced or unspiced cider (non-alcoholic) and warm doughnuts dipped in cinnamon sugar. This will carry us over until feast ;-).

4:15– 6:30: Sewing, Pressing, Handwork, Upstairs in the Workshop. Discussions may drift into how to remember tales to tell and practice telling! 5:30 to 6 clean up projects and get ready for feast!

Woodworking Discussion. Bring your ideas and get them down on paper for the November Artisan's Day. Talk about wood, designs, tools needed, etc.

Feast Prep Work. Discussions about cooking over a wood fire.
6:30 -8:00: Feast
Inside, outside, upstairs and around the fire. Pork, Apples, and Harvest Fare.
Reminder!! Please RSVP, including # of people and what you plan to bring by Thursday 8 pm on 9/20.
8:00 till late: Fire & Stories. Relax and listen or tell tales round the fire.<

August 11, 2012 at Wellmark Keep.

The focus on this Artisan's day will be target shooting. Loaner gear will be available, as wiill lots of fun targets and expert instruction. If you have never tried archery in the SCA, now is the time!

The day will start about 12:30 (just after lunch) and target shooting will take place throughout the afternoon. In addition, there will be an opportunity to discuss how to get started making a long bow, for those who didn't make it to the last Artisans Day at the de Kari Workshop. If you have a blank, bring it to discuss how to start!

Other activities might in happening in the kitchen, the dining area, and the hall. As with all Artisans Days, we will break for food and drink in the evening, which always has ended in some lively discussions
